All guinea pigs need exersise, even if they have a enormus cage. They need time to run around, and be active. So, you need to give them about 2 hours of free range time. You can make them their own condo, like the picture to the left. If that is to much work for you, you can give them a supervised free range time in one room. Whatever you do, there are some precautions you should take:
1. Make sure all wire and electrical cords cannot be reached by your cavies.
2. Some cavies love to chew on plastic bags, so make sure there are no plastic bags lying around.
3. Make sure all tiny spaces under bookshelves, dressers, etc are closed off. If you cavy gets stuck in a tiny space, it will become scared, and getting it out will make you and your cavy unhappy.
4. Whatever you do, ALWAYS BE WITH YOUR CAVIES! Even if you take all of these precautions, unsupervised cavies can get into a lot of mischief.
